Proof in the soil
Hanan Green Acres has grown through local effort, practical production and a determination to turn desert challenges into learning opportunities.

From survival income to a sustainable mission
Leafy greens, beetroot, herbs, tomatoes and other greenhouse produce have helped keep the organisation moving. This income strengthens sustainability and reduces dependency on donations.
Additional land from local government creates the opportunity to expand from a productive garden into a humanitarian learning campus serving schools, families and community volunteers.
- Purpose: Food security, youth empowerment and environmental stewardship
- Method: Practical workshops and residential weekend learning
- Result: Skills that participants can apply at home and at school

Growing in the Namib Desert
The project’s greatest strength is that it already works in the conditions it seeks to address. Greenhouse production, vegetables and olive cultivation demonstrate what water-wise methods, perseverance and practical knowledge can achieve.
